Reading Eggs uses a mix of extrinsic and intrinsic motivators, including:

• Certificates: awarded once students have correctly answered several questions in a Map.
• Interactive activities are designed to engage students from the moment they enter the programme.
• Visible progress tracking: students can see their development as they advance through the programme, encouraging them to take ownership of their learning.
• Students earn eggs as they progress through the programme.  They can use these to purchase items in the plaza shop to add to their house or apartment.
• Students can also unlock additional educational games, as well as puzzles and songs.
• In Fast Phonics, students unlock new features as they progress, as well as earn Yeti coins that can be spent in the Yeti Shop.
